(Overview)

In 2022, link-in-bio tool Linktree became a Unicorn, raising $150m at a $1.3bn valuation. To maintain its position as the no.1 link-in-bio tool, Linktree set out for rapid growth, seeking to acquire new users and retain and grow current ones. Creators are a key audience for the business, and to demonstrate the value that Linktree, its thought leaders and its tools brought to their businesses, R. Agency developed a creator-specific strategy amplifying insight and industry-first product launches and features.

(Project Details)

Globally, there are more than 207 million professional creators. To become successful, creators are often expected to wear many hats - sales, finance, growth, relationships - taking their time away from what they set out to do in the first place. R. Agency created a strategy to demonstrate Linktree’s understanding of the pressures facing creators through thought leadership and research, underpinning this with tool and feature updates. For each update, R. Agency created bespoke media strategies to ensure key messages resonated with the target audience. Feature updates included the launch of a Web3 NFT feature, Mobile App, Marketplace, and Payment Lock.

Linktree, the no.1 link-in-bio tool for creators, celebrities and brands, counts Jamie Oliver, Stephen Fry, Man City and Joe Wicks as some of its fans. It is one of the top 300 most visited website destinations globally, with over 1.2bn unique visitors a month. Following a Series C raise of $150m, the brand set out on a path of rapid growth, seeking to acquire new users and retain and grow current ones. R. Agency were briefed as part of an ongoing relationship to engage creators by demonstrating the value that Linktree can bring to their business.

Results

R. Agency consistently landed Linktree-in-the-headline coverage in tier-one tech and creator outlets, including TechCrunch, The Information, Mashable, The Verge, and Financial Times. R. Agency secured three speaker slots for co-founder and CEO Alex at Web Summit. To reinforce the brand’s dominance at the conference, the agency created and curated a tastemaker dinner with key opinion leaders from the world of creator commerce, including the CEO of OnlyFans, Co-founders of Loom, creator royalty Caspar Lee and Brad Mondo, and correspondents from Fast Company, VICE, Forbes and Axios. Linktree today has over 50 million users globally.
